Hello!

Welcome to ReFind Design, eco-friendly jewelry designs and classes.

More classes...

...but this time I'M the teacher! I'm teaching a few classes at the Studio at Rush Creek, which is one of my absolute favorite places to take classes in the Twin Cities.
Ever wanted to get your feet wet (so to speak) with metal clay? The classes I'm teaching offer the perfect opportunity to try out both Art Clay and PMC with minimal investment. That's one of the great things about taking a class at Rush Creek - they provide ALL of the tools. When's the last time you took a class and didn't have to bring a thing or spend money on tools you may never use again? Now you know why I'm so grateful for the Studio at Rush Creek!

So what are the fabulous classes I'm teaching? I'm so glad you asked!

Intro to Art Clay Silver
Saturday, May 12
Noon-3:00pm
Learn to make beautiful fine silver jewelry pieces out of art clay silver, which is made from silver particles recycled from film negatives and held together with a clay-like binder. When fired with a torch, the clay burns away leaving you with a 99.9% pure silver piece. This is a very flexible medium compared to traditional metalworking, since you can use stamps and other decorative techniques.

Stone Setting in PMC
Tuesday, May 22
6:00-9:00pm
In this class we will set faceted stones into PMC. You will start by creating a fine silver pendant using a stamp or mold, then add a stone to complement the design. Pieces will be kiln fired. This simple technique is perfect for beginning as well as experienced PMC students.

Date & time TBA

You can register right on the website. The Intro class is almost full (!) so if you're interested in being part of it I would suggest signing up ASAP. I will provide updates on my classes here and on the Education/Classes section of my blog.

I'm always looking for suggestions for classes to teach. Is there something you have always wanted to learn but weren't sure where to go or how to start? I would love your ideas! Feel free to share them here or send me an email. I look forward to seeing you in a class soon!
