A lot has happened in the last few weeks! First, I did my silver crane demo at both the Bead Monkey and the American Craft Council show, and I am happy to report that both went extremely well. I will most likely be teaching a PMC crane class at the Bead Monkey this fall, so if you're in the Twin Cities area and want to learn how to make these incredible items be sure to become a follower or check back here in August.
I also participated in the St. Paul Art Crawl for the first time ever. It's a really cool event. For 3 days artists throughout St. Paul open their studios and sell their wares. I was in the Old Hamm Brewery Building, which is essentially a gignormous warehouse with huge rooms. I shared a space with 3 other artists, Becky Amble (and her sons Pasha & Alex), Meredith Dillman (I love her Alice in Wonderland picture so much I had to buy it!) and Kati Roberts. It was fun but a LOT of work.
Coming up next week is the HandmadeMN art show at the VFW. I realized at the Art Crawl that I'm running out of inventory, so am in the process of making a bunch of new things. The post earrings have been really popular, so I'll be coming out with some new designs. Come check it out!

Oh...more about Alex Amble...
He is an amazing kid. At 14 years old he is already an artist, photographer, musician and composer. He has written a song to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. His goal is to raise $1 million in downloads of the song on iTunes. He has a mild form of the disease, which is part of his motivation for this endeavor. Please check out his website and help him reach his goal! His CD, Sunrise, is on sale for $12.99. Check his website for information about how to order. There's also a great video from Fox9 News that tells more about Alex and his amazing mission.
P.S. You can take a listen to the song, called "When the Sun Goes Down," on youtube. Enjoy!
